Even though Fall came too soon, crisp air and the promise of a white Christmas creates a wonderful sense of expectation. That’s how I would describe Village Schools of the Bible. God is at work.
Inside this edition of the Philogian you will find highlights of the September 11 installation service. Over 200 people attended. The Word of God was proclaimed with power. My pastor friend Randy Anderson gave a pastoral charge from 2 Timothy. You can read his Spirit-anointed words. Do you wonder what’s going on in the America church scene these days? Inside is a book review on Donald Miller’s Blue Like Jazz. Shane Walker of Nine Mark’s Ministry evaluates Miller’s message in light of the historic and transcendent Son of God who reigns and judges the nations. You might wonder if there are two different Jesus’ presented in American evangelicalism.
Our Winter-Spring class schedule is inside the Philogian. Make special note of an important upcoming class beginning January 18, 2012 at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. I will be teaching a twelve week course on how to carefully discover the meaning of any text of Scripture. Taken from the text book by Scott Duval and Daniel Hays’s book, the title of the course is “Grasping God’s Word.” Did you know there are biblical rules when applied can unlock the message of any passage in Scripture?
This edition of the Philogian updates our Six Month Vision Campaign. We are grateful for all who have joined our campaign. Thank you! If you have not, we encourage your participation. Please help us reach our financial goals as we teach God’s Word and transform people’s lives.
